Emirates Airlines has reported positive outcomes following a 36% increase in flight capacity to Sri Lanka since January 2024. The update was shared during a discussion between Emirates representatives and Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Aruna Karunathilaka.
The meeting highlighted Emirates’ long-standing partnership with Sri Lanka and commended the airline for maintaining uninterrupted operations during challenging periods. Discussions also covered airport terminal facilities, with officials noting plans for future modernization through major investments and a transparent tender process. The existing agreement with Emirates has been temporarily extended until 31 March 2026.
