A Brussels Airlines (Belgium) flight from Dakar, Senegal took an unexpected turn when a passenger went into labor shortly after takeoff. Assisted by a cabin crew member and a nurse onboard, the woman gave birth mid-flight before the aircraft could return to Dakar. A doctor onboard confirmed the baby was healthy, bringing relief to all passengers and crew.
Cabin crew member Jennifer, who helped with the delivery, described the moment as “magical” and a testament to teamwork and training. The flight landed safely in Dakar, with both mother and baby in good health.
