Thai Seaplane has been recognised as Asia’s Leading Seaplane Operator 2026 at the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA), marking a significant milestone for Thailand’s developing seaplane industry. The recognition comes from an awards programme often described as the “Oscars of the travel industry,” with the World Travel Awards having been established in 1993.
The recognition highlights the company’s focus on safety, service excellence and responsible seaplane operations, while supporting new ways for travellers to access Thailand’s coastal and island destinations.
Thailand is emerging as one of Asia’s developing seaplane markets, supported by growing tourism demand and increasing regulatory attention towards the sector. The country introduced dedicated regulations for commercial seaplane operations in 2025, while authorities are also exploring the development of water aerodromes and other infrastructure needed to support future operations.
As part of its expansion plans, Thai Seaplane is working towards establishing what it describes as Thailand’s largest seaplane hub at Phuket Deep Sea Port. The proposed facility is expected to create new connections between Phuket and several key provinces and island destinations, including Koh Samui, Phi Phi, Koh Lipe and Koh Kradan.
Speaking about the World Travel Awards recognition, TJ Kasinpoj, Founder and CEO of Thai Seaplane, said the achievement provides encouragement for the company as Thailand continues to develop its seaplane sector. As Thailand develops its modern seaplane industry, this recognition is a great encouragement for our future operations. We are grateful to our team and everyone who has contributed to making this possible. Our vision is to introduce seaplane travel as a new experience for visitors to Thailand and create convenient connections to destinations that are traditionally more difficult to access.
Thailand’s strong tourism market provides significant potential for seaplane connectivity. The country welcomed nearly 33 million international visitors in 2025, generating around US$86.5 billion in tourism revenue.
With its extensive coastline and numerous island destinations, Thailand offers opportunities for premium point-to-point travel. Thai Seaplane aims to support this growing sector by connecting major tourism hubs with key island destinations, while developing a broader network for tourism, regional connectivity and unique travel experiences.
