Velana International Airport (VIA) in the Maldives has been named Indian Ocean’s Leading Airport 2026 at the 33rd annual World Travel Awards.
The recognition marks the 13th time VIA has received the prestigious regional award. The airport is undergoing major development to enhance capacity, connectivity, operational efficiency and the overall passenger experience, including the opening of its new international passenger terminal.
