Sri Lanka mourns the untimely passing of one of its youngest and most promising hot air balloon pilots, Captain Anthony Pasindu Chathuranga Fernando. A proud alumnus of St. Peter’s College, Capt. Fernando earned his hot air balloon pilot licence from the United Kingdom, becoming part of a rare and elite group of Sri Lankan balloon pilots.
He began his aviation journey with Sun Rise Ballooning Company, where he quickly gained admiration for his skill, professionalism, and warm personality. Despite his young age, Capt. Fernando was considered one of the finest balloon pilots the country has seen.
Aviation Voice extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. The aviation community has lost not just a talented pilot, but a kind-hearted soul who brought joy and wonder to all who flew with him.
Rest in peace Pasindu..
