Sri Lanka welcomed 33,910 tourists in the first week of May 2025, marking an 18.87% increase compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. India continued to dominate as the leading source market with 10,620 visitors, accounting for 31.3% of the total arrivals. The United Kingdom followed with 2,676 tourists, contributing 7.9% to the total influx.
As of now, the island nation has recorded 930,794 tourist arrivals for the year, signaling strong momentum in its post-pandemic tourism recovery efforts.
