Poland’s national carrier LOT Polish Airlines will operate special one-off flights to bring stranded Polish tourists home from Sri Lanka and the Maldives, after travel disruptions in the region forced the cancellation of numerous flights.
The additional services, scheduled for 10 March, will operate on the Colombo–Warsaw and Malé–Warsaw routes. The flights are being organised in cooperation with Polish travel agencies to assist travellers whose return journeys were affected by the escalating tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
Seats will primarily be allocated to passengers booked through tour operators, though a limited number may also be available to individual travellers depending on capacity.
Tickets for the special flights will be sold exclusively through authorised travel agents, including Weco-Travel, eTravel, and LOT Travel.
Further updates on potential additional repatriation flights will be communicated jointly by LOT and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland. The initiative forms part of broader efforts by Poland and its EU and NATO partners to assist citizens stranded across the wider Middle East region amid ongoing instability.
