Air Vice Marshal Prasanka Martino has been appointed as the new Director General Aeronautical Engineering of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF), effective from 1 September 2026.
The appointment letter was formally handed over to Air Vice Marshal Martino by Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, at Air Force Headquarters.
A proud alumnus of St. Benedict’s College, Colombo, Air Vice Marshal Martino joined the SLAF as an Officer Cadet of the 11th Intake of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence Academy in 1993.
Following the successful completion of his training, he was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in the Aeronautical and General Engineering Branch of the Sri Lanka Air Force on 17 October 1996.
