CINEC and TAASL Join Forces to Develop Sri Lanka’s Future Travel & Tourism Workforce

CINEC Campus has entered into a strategic collaboration with the Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL) aimed at strengthening travel and tourism education and developing the next generation of industry professionals in Sri Lanka.

The partnership comes as CINEC prepares to launch its new Diploma in Travel and Tourism programme, designed to provide students with industry-relevant knowledge, practical skills and exposure to career opportunities within the global travel and tourism sector.

According to CINEC, the collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry by creating pathways for students to gain competencies aligned with current industry requirements while supporting the continued growth of Sri Lanka’s tourism sector.

The discussions were attended by TAASL President Ms. Sonali Wijesurendra, Senior Vice President Ms. Chamila Wijethunge, Treasurer and Head of the Human Resources Sub Committee Dr. Duminda Kuruwitaarachchi, Council Member and Deputy Head of the Human Resources Sub Committee Mr. Wilhelm E. Brown and Council Member and Human Resources Sub Committee Member Mr. Romesh Samaranayake, alongside CINEC’s senior management team.

Both organizations expressed confidence that the initiative will help nurture future travel and tourism professionals while contributing to the long-term development of Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.
