Sri Lanka is expected to enhance its international air links as more foreign carriers prepare to operate flights to the country, according to Tourism Deputy Minister Prof. Ruwan Ranasinghe.
He said Vietnam Airlines, VietJet, Jetstar, British Airways, French Bee, S7 Airlines (JSC Siberia Airlines) and Supernova Airlines are planning to commence services to Sri Lanka. At the same time, Turkish Airlines, Emirates and Qatar Airways have expanded their service frequencies, while discussions continue with Bangla Airlines and Centrum Air regarding potential future operations.
The Deputy Minister noted that the additional services are expected to improve air connectivity, increase available seat capacity, and support the country’s aviation recovery.
