Kite flying banned within 5km of airports: AASL issues warning

The public is reminded by Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) that flying kites or any other airborne objects above a height of 300 feet within a 5-kilometre radius of any international airport is strictly prohibited. Such activities pose a serious risk to aircraft operations and aviation safety.

AASL warns that anyone violating these regulations may face legal action, as it is a punishable offence under the applicable aviation laws. Travelers, residents, and the general public are urged to comply with these safety regulations to help ensure the safe and uninterrupted operation of flights.
