A plane carrying passengers on a skydiving trip crashed near an airport in Missouri on Sunday, killing all 12 people on board, authorities said.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the aircraft went down near Butler Memorial Airport in Butler, a town located about 65 miles south of Kansas City. Troopers were assisting local law enforcement agencies at the scene. (FirstPost)

The Pacific Aerospace 750XL that crashed is a model that’s popular for skydiving and also has proven useful for carrying cargo, aerial surveying and medical evacuation flights. The aircraft can carry more than 4,000 pounds and is capable of taking off and landing on short runways, according to the manufacturer. The plane was built in 2010, according to FAA records.
