A charter aircraft carrying eight people crashed near a remote military radar site in western Alaska on Thursday, killing everyone on board.
The twin-engine Cessna 441 had departed Anchorage and was heading to the Cape Newenham Long Range Radar Site, about 450 miles (725 km) west of Anchorage. The aircraft was carrying two pilots and six passengers.
The flight was operated by Security Aviation under a civilian contract, with two U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employees among those killed. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are investigating the crash, while the cause has not yet been determined. (AP)
