The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) recently organized a vibrant one-day aviation awareness program in conjunction with International Women’s Day 2026, aimed at enhancing aviation knowledge among students interested in pursuing careers in the aviation sector.
The program brought together around 150 students representing School Aviation Clubs, universities, aviation training institutions, and line ministry officers. Participants were given the opportunity to explore diverse career pathways and gain valuable insights into the opportunities shaping the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP).
During the event, students were guided by industry resource persons from Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited, SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering, and SriLankan Aviation College, offering students first-hand perspectives on the aviation industry and its many career avenues.
As part of the program, participants were also taken on a field visit to Bandaranaike International Airport, providing practical exposure to airport operations. The visit included a special opportunity to see an aircraft at the B747 hangar, coordinated with SriLankan Airlines, allowing students to gain a closer look at aircraft maintenance and operational environments.
