India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has officially welcomed aviation industry veteran Willie Walsh as its Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Pieter Elbers.
Walsh, who previously served as Director General of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and held leadership roles at British Airways and International Airlines Group (IAG), brings more than four decades of aviation experience to the airline.
He is expected to lead IndiGo’s next phase of international expansion, focusing on long-haul operations, network growth, operational excellence, and an enhanced customer experience as the carrier strengthens its position in the global aviation market.
