“Over the past few days, we have visited several key domestic airports, including Trincomalee, Hingurakgoda and Sigiriya, to assess their current infrastructure and future potential. These airports can play a significant role in strengthening Sri Lanka’s tourism industry and expanding domestic air connectivity. While many of their facilities require improvement, our objective is to upgrade them through both short-term and long-term development plans.
As Sri Lanka is expected to welcome a record number of tourist arrivals this year, we are committed to providing the maximum possible support from the aviation sector,” said Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Janitha Ruwan Kodituwakku.
