Mr. Bilal Okur, Director South Asia of Turkish Cargo, and Mr. Emre Durmaz, Regional Manager for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, recently paid a courtesy visit to Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). The visit focused on exploring opportunities to strengthen air cargo connections and enhance bilateral cooperation in aviation logistics.
The Turkish Cargo delegation held discussions with Air Chief Marshal (Rtd) Harsha Abeywickrema, Chairman of Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Private Ltd (AASL), along with other senior officials. Topics included current operations, future development opportunities, and the exchange of industry expertise.
Turkish Cargo, a key contributor to Sri Lanka’s economic development, currently operates daily passenger flights and a weekly freighter service to BIA, connecting the country to global markets. With a fleet of 329 passenger aircraft and 24 dedicated freighters, Turkish Cargo serves over 340 destinations worldwide, reinforcing its position as a leading player in the international air cargo industry.
