Hyderabad, India – In a strategic initiative to boost tourism, Telangana State Tourism, in collaboration with SriLankan Airlines, has organized a six-day familiarization tour for top travel agents from Sri Lanka. The objective is to showcase Telangana’s rich heritage, Buddhist landmarks, and cultural attractions to international visitors.
A delegation of 14 leading travel agents from Colombo arrived in Hyderabad yesterday and will explore prominent Buddhist heritage sites such as Nagarjuna Sagar, Buddhavanam, Phanigiri, and Warangal, along with the UNESCO-listed Ramappa Temple.
The itinerary also includes visits to Ramoji Film City, the iconic Charminar, Salar Jung Museum, and Golconda Fort’s Sound & Light Show, offering a glimpse into Telangana’s historical and cinematic grandeur. Additionally, a special dinner reception will be hosted by Telangana Tourism and the state government to honor the visiting delegation.
With four weekly flights between Colombo and Hyderabad, SriLankan Airlines aims to strengthen tourism ties by promoting Buddhist, cultural, and shopping tours to Hyderabad under its SriLankan Airlines Holidays program. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing travel opportunities between Sri Lanka and Telangana.
