The appreciation certificate was presented by Mr. Ali Türk, Chief Cargo Officer (CCO) of Turkish Airlines, to Mr. Dev Samarajeewa, Founder and CEO of Aviation Voice, during a special visit and observation tour of Turkish Cargo’s SmartIST Terminal, Europe’s largest air cargo facility held on 16 October 2025. This recognition underscores Aviation Voice’s continued dedication and impactful contributions to aviation media and industry promotion across South Asia.
This acknowledgment marks a significant achievement for Aviation Voice, reaffirming its commitment to elevating aviation journalism, digital engagement and global industry collaboration throughout the region.
As part of the broader Turkish Airlines network operating a fleet of 503 aircraft serving over 350 destinations in 131 countries, Turkish Cargo benefits from exceptional global connectivity. The airline also holds a Guinness World Record for flying to the most destinations worldwide.
Currently, SmartIST, Turkish Cargo’s state-of-the-art cargo terminal at Istanbul Airport, handles over 2 million tons of cargo annually, with plans to expand capacity to 4 million tons by 2033.
