Qatar Airways voted World’s Best Airline for eighth time

Qatar Airways has been named as the world’s best airline at the 2024 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards, held today, June 24, 2024, in London.

It marks the eighth time Qatar Airways has won this award in the 25-year history of the World Airline Awards.

Reclaiming its title from Singapore Airlines, which took second place this year, and ahead of Emirates, that has been ranked third, Qatar Airways continues to set industry standards.

The airline also received accolades for the World’s Best Business Class for the 11th time, the World’s Best Business Class Lounge for the 6th time, and the Best Airline in the Middle East for the 12th time.

Qatar Airways becomes the first aviation group to win: Best Airline, Best Airport and Best Airport for Shopping, in the same year in Skytrax’s history.

The Group Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer,  expressed his pride and gratitude to SKYTRAX World Airline Awards as he said, “This is a proud Qatar Airways moment and it is my honour to share this award with my hardworking colleagues. This award is testimony to our relentless dedication to providing unparalleled service and innovation. We look forward to more wins in the future.”

The World’s Top 20 Airlines of 2024, as announced by SKYTRAX, are:

  15. Iberia
  16. Vistara
  17. Virgin Atlantic
  18. Lufthansa
  19. Etihad Airways
  20. Saudi Arabian Airlines

These rankings are derived from an extensive online customer survey conducted from September 2023 to May 2024. Over 350 airlines were featured in the final award results, with votes cast by customers from more than 100 nationalities.
