Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency has confirmed that 11 people were on board the missing Indonesia Air Transport ATR 42-500, registered PK-THT, which lost contact on Saturday while flying from Yogyakarta to Makassar.
According to the agency’s Director of Operations, Edy Prakoso, the aircraft was carrying eight crew members and three passengers, with last contact recorded at 1:17 p.m. local time. Data from AirNav Indonesia shows the aircraft’s final known position near the Leang-Leang area in Maros District.
Search operations were immediately launched from Makassar, with 25 SAR personnel deployed in three teams. The operation includes ground vehicles and drone support to search the last known coordinates.
Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency said the search operation remains ongoing and will continue intensively until the condition of the aircraft and those on board is confirmed.
