An Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787 landed in Colombo, supporting the departure of the 11th Sri Lanka Air Force Aviation Contingent assigned to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
The contingent, which departed Sri Lanka on 21 January 2026, comprises 22 officers (including two female officers) and 88 airmen (including five airwomen), under the command of Group Captain Asiri Pathirage. The deployment reflects Sri Lanka’s continued contribution to global peacekeeping, supported by international aviation connectivity.
