Dimuthu Tennakoon, Chairman of the Board of Airline Representatives (BAR), celebrated a decade of distinguished service at a special event held at Shangri-La Hambantota. The gathering included leading figures from the aviation industry who recognized Tennakoon’s extraordinary leadership and unwavering commitment during a transformative period for Sri Lanka’s aviation sector.
Under his stewardship, BAR successfully navigated critical challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, addressing operational hurdles like foreign exchange shortages and high fuel costs. Tennakoon’s efforts ensured Sri Lanka’s continued appeal as a destination for international airlines, bolstering tourism and significantly contributing to the national economy.
Sudesh Rupasinghe, Vice Chairman of BAR, highlighted Tennakoon’s open leadership style and dedication, attributing many of BAR’s achievements to his guidance. He extended his best wishes for Tennakoon’s continued success in leading the industry forward.
