The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka conducted a one-day aviation awareness programme at Sangamiththa Balika Maha Vidyalaya, Kiridiwela, alongside a student pinning ceremony, engaging around 150 participants.
Capt. Daminda Rambukwella, DGCA & CEO, highlighted the global growth potential of aviation, noting that the industry guided by International Civil Aviation Organization is expected to expand significantly by 2050, creating major opportunities for future professionals.
Students explored aviation career paths through sessions led by experts from CAASL, SriLankan Airlines and SriLankan Aviation College.
The initiative, part of the NGAP-SL program, aims to inspire the next generation especially young women to pursue careers in aviation, with support from the Ministry of Ports & Civil Aviation and the Ministry of Education.
