Sri Lanka’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAASL) has issued an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to Openskies, making it the country’s seventh current AOC holder and the first operator to receive an AOC from CAASL in 2026.
The certification follows a comprehensive regulatory assessment covering the operator’s operational, technical and organizational capabilities. With the AOC, Openskies is authorized to conduct domestic commercial air transport operations in Sri Lanka, subject to the conditions of its certificate.
The Director General of Civil Aviation and Chief Executive Officer, Capt. Daminda Rambukwella, formally presented the Air Operator Certificate to Mr. Dineth Fernando, CEO/ Accountable Manager of Openskies, following the successful completion of the certification process.
