In collaboration with the Hong Kong Youth Aviation Academy (HKYAA), Cathay has announced the launch of two new initiatives that are aimed at nurturing the next generation of aviation enthusiasts. These are the AeroQuiz and the Cathay Inter-school Aviation Challenge Cup.
AeroQuiz runs from June to November 2025 and offers daily challenges to deepen aviation knowledge, with prizes for participants. The top 16 schools will advance to the Challenge Cup in December, featuring live, aviation-themed problem-solving contests with rewards like overseas trips and simulator experiences.
Cathay’s Lavinia Lau said: “At Cathay, we are deeply committed to inspiring Hong Kong’s youth to dream big and reach for the skies. Through AeroQuiz and the Cathay Inter-School Aviation Challenge Cup, we aim to make aviation education engaging, accessible and rewarding. These initiatives not only celebrate curiosity and a passion for learning, but also provide young participants with a springboard to future opportunities in the aviation industry. I look forward to seeing them spread their wings and fly high on this exciting journey.”
At the launch event, Cathay and HKYAA leaders highlighted their commitment to youth development and industry engagement. These programs complement Cathay’s existing I Can Fly initiative, aiming to make aviation education accessible, engaging, and a pathway to future careers.
