CAASL Holds Talks with VietJet Air Ahead of Sri Lanka Route Launch

The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) has held discussions with VietJet Air ahead of the airline’s launch of direct scheduled passenger services between Vietnam and Sri Lanka on 18 August 2026. The meeting focused on operational and regulatory arrangements to ensure a smooth commencement of the new route.
VietJet Air will become the first Vietnamese airline to operate direct scheduled passenger flights to Sri Lanka. The new service is expected to strengthen air connectivity, boost tourism, trade and investment and further enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
