U.S. and Sri Lankan specialists are conducting joint disaster-response training under Atlas Angel II, focusing on strengthening capabilities for real-world emergencies.
Training activities in Katunayake, Kandy and Colombo cover key areas including C-130 aircraft maintenance, urban search and rescue, landslide recovery and hazardous materials response.
The joint exercises are aimed at improving coordination, reducing emergency response times and enhancing the capabilities of regional responders. The training also strengthens professional ties and operational readiness between U.S. and Sri Lankan teams.
