Passenger drones are undergoing test flights at Colombo Port City ahead of an official demonstration scheduled for 11 November 2026.
The trials are part of a pilot project involving Chinese aviation technology company EHang Holdings, which specialises in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
The two-passenger aircraft is being explored for potential applications in tourism, urban transportation, emergency medical services and cargo delivery. The demonstration is expected to showcase its capabilities and assess the potential for introducing passenger drone services in Sri Lanka.
