Sri Lanka needs to welcome at least 500,217 more tourists during the final two months of 2026 to surpass its record-breaking annual tourist arrivals figure of 2,362,521, achieved in 2025.
According to the latest figures, Sri Lanka recorded 1,862,304 tourist arrivals up to 31 October 2026, leaving the country just over half a million arrivals short of setting a new annual record.
With November and December remaining, the tourism industry faces a crucial final stretch to surpass the previous year’s historic milestone and make 2026 another record-breaking year for Sri Lanka’s tourism sector.
To exceed the 2025 record, the country needs to average approximately 250,109 tourist arrivals per month over the remaining two months.
