Sri Lanka is participating in the 61st Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation, Asia and Pacific Region (DGCA/61), currently underway in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The conference has brought together more than 500 participants from 35 countries across the Asia and Pacific Region. This year’s event is being held under the theme “Smart Skies: Emerging Technologies for Safe, Secure, Sustainable and Efficient Aviation.”
Representing Sri Lanka is Captain Daminda Rambukwella, Director General of Civil Aviation and Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL).
DGCA/61 provides a regional platform for aviation authorities and senior officials to discuss key developments and emerging priorities in civil aviation, while sharing knowledge, experiences and best practices.
The conference is also focusing on the opportunities and challenges arising from emerging aviation technologies and their role in improving aviation safety, security, sustainability and operational efficiency.
Sri Lanka’s participation strengthens its engagement with the regional aviation community and supports greater cooperation with other Asia-Pacific countries on issues affecting the development of civil aviation.
