Sri Lankan passport holders will no longer be eligible for visa-free entry to Thailand from 15 September 2026, according to the Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo.
Under the new rules, all Sri Lankan travellers must obtain a Thai visa online through the official e-Visa system before travelling. The Embassy will not accept applications in person or in physical form.
Tourist visa applications are expected to take around 3–7 working days once all required documents are submitted. Non-Immigrant and Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) applications may require additional processing time.
