Sri Lanka is expected to welcome its third international scheduled passenger airline soon, according to industry reports.
The new airline is expected to be the country’s second privately operated scheduled passenger carrier and will reportedly launch as a low-cost airline with an initial Airbus A320 aircraft.
Reports also indicate that the airline’s top management team includes a prominent aviation figure who previously led SriLankan Airlines and earlier served with a leading Gulf airline.
Reports indicate that the new airline is expected to operate under an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) acquired from an airline currently operating from Ratmalana Airport.
