Turkish Airlines to Launch Nonstop Istanbul-Sydney Flights by 2027, Covering Nearly 9,300 Miles

Turkish Airlines plans to introduce its first-ever nonstop service between Istanbul and Sydney by the end of 2027, marking the airline’s longest route to date. Covering nearly 9,300 miles, the flight is expected to take up to 19 hours.

The carrier will operate the route using specially configured Airbus A350-1000 aircraft designed for ultra-long-haul operations. Speaking at the IATA Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Turkish Airlines Chairman Murat Şeker confirmed the plans and revealed that the new jets will feature an upgraded cabin with 66 private Business Class suites equipped with sliding doors.

Turkish Airlines is also exploring new long-haul destinations, including Orlando, Philadelphia and Minneapolis, as additional widebody aircraft join its fleet in the coming years.
