Discussion Held on Flooding Issues Around Bandaranaike International Airport

A special discussion was recently held at the premises of Bandaranaike International Airport regarding the recurring flooding of airport access roads during periods of rainfall.

Officials discussed both short-term and long-term measures to address the issue, including the maintenance of waterways, removal of drainage blockages and improving coordination among relevant institutions to ensure uninterrupted access for air passengers.

Representatives from several key institutions, including the Airports and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd, Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan Catering, Sri Lanka Air Force, Sri Lanka Police, Road Development Authority, Urban Development Authority and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, participated in the discussion and agreed to work collectively towards sustainable solutions.
