Low-cost carrier AirAsia has placed a landmark order for 150 Airbus A220 aircraft, marking the largest single firm order in the history of the A220 program.
The airline also becomes the launch customer for the A220’s new high-capacity cabin configuration, capable of accommodating up to 160 passengers.
AirAsia stated that the fuel-efficient and longer-range A220 aircraft will support its future expansion plans and help open new regional routes while complementing its existing all-Airbus fleet.
