An Indian tourist has been killed and two others injured after two helicopters operated by Fishtail Air and Air Dynasty collided while landing at Pheriche helipad in Nepal’s Solukhumbu district on Tuesday morning.
The collision occurred at around 8:11 a.m. local time when the helicopters’ rotor blades struck each other during landing. The deceased tourist was identified as Indian national Vasanth Kumar. An Air Dynasty pilot and a New Zealand passenger sustained injuries and were airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment.
Nepalese aviation authorities have launched an investigation into the accident.
