Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) has introduced 14 new check-in counters on a trial basis at its newly constructed marquee, launched on 10 November 2025. Built in just one month, the facility showcases effective collaboration between the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and industry partners.
The new counters aim to streamline operations and enhance passenger convenience during the winter travel season. Authorities plan to scale up operations based on passenger demand, marking another step forward in improving Sri Lanka’s airport experience.
