BOC Travels (Pvt) Ltd has announced the appointment of Mr. R. M. P. (Priyantha) Rathnayake as its new Chairman. Currently serving as a Director on the Board of the Bank of Ceylon, Mr. Rathnayake brings over 25 years of distinguished experience in public service, finance, and governance, including his tenure as Deputy Secretary to the Treasury.
He has held leadership roles in several prestigious institutions, including Chairmanships at the National Savings Bank and the National Credit Guarantee Institution, as well as directorships at People’s Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). Known for his expertise in multilateral and bilateral development banking, he has played a key role in mobilizing foreign funding for national projects and strengthening Sri Lanka’s financial and economic landscape.
With his extensive experience, strategic vision, and proven leadership, Mr. Rathnayake is expected to guide BOC Travels toward new growth opportunities in Sri Lanka’s travel and tourism sector.
