flydubai celebrates 15 incredible years of connecting Colombo to Dubai and beyond with a ceremony at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on 23 June 2025 with the crew of flight FZ 1025.
To commemorate the occasion, a special celebration was organised by flydubai’s General Sales Agent (GSA) in Sri Lanka, Hayleys Aviation (Pvt) Ltd.
The highlight of the event was the ceremonial water cannon salute welcoming the flight, which arrived from Dubai to Colombo via Male, symbolising the airline’s remarkable journey since commencing operations to Colombo.
The event brought together distinguished guests and stakeholders from across the aviation and travel sectors, including senior officials from Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka (AASL), the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), Sri Lanka Tourism and Hayleys Aviation.
The celebration underscored flydubai’s commitment to the Sri Lankan market and reaffirmed the strength of its partnership with Hayleys Aviation, with a shared focus on continued growth, strengthening connectivity for the future.
