Four (04) Airlines Set to Boost Sri Lanka’s Air Connectivity Ahead of Winter 2026

Sri Lanka is set to welcome additional international airline services towards the end of October 2026, with British Airways, Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air and Switzerland’s Edelweiss among the carriers scheduled to commence or resume operations to the country, boosting air connectivity ahead of the winter travel season.
 
The expanded flight operations come as Sri Lanka’s tourism industry continues its recovery, with the country surpassing 1.7 million tourist arrivals in 2026. According to the latest figures, total arrivals reached 1,717,028. Aviation Voice
 
India remains Sri Lanka’s largest source market, recording 447,476 arrivals, followed by the United Kingdom, China, Germany and Australia.
 
The anticipated increase in international services is expected to strengthen Sri Lanka’s connectivity with key European and Central Asian markets while supporting tourism growth during the upcoming winter season.
