A De Havilland Twin Otter 300, operating a long-range flight from Kuala Lumpur to the United States, made a technical stop at Koggala Airport, Sri Lanka, to address a system issue, with assistance from Ceylon Aeronautical Services (CAS), the country’s premier MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) provider based in Koggala.
Upon identifying a technical concern mid-route, the operators coordinated with CAS to carry out maintenance at their home base. CAS, known for its efficiency and high standards, swiftly carried out the required rectification work, allowing the aircraft to continue its journey.

For years, Ceylon Aeronautical Services has quietly delivered world-class MRO solutions to international clients, despite industry challenges. Their operations at Koggala are a testament to Sri Lanka’s growing capacity in the global aviation maintenance landscape.
As Sri Lanka works toward establishing itself on the global aviation map, it’s vital to support and promote specialized service providers like CAS, entities that bring in valuable foreign exchange and enhance the country’s international standing.
CAS is also the official representative of Bell Textron (Bell Helicopters) for both Sri Lanka and the Maldives, further cementing its role as a key player in the region’s aviation ecosystem.
This successful technical support operation not only reflects CAS’s capability but also showcases the untapped potential of Sri Lanka’s aviation services sector.
