28 Flights, 5,632 Arrivals: Edelweiss ends successful Colombo season, plans winter comeback

Swiss leisure carrier Edelweiss Air successfully concluded its seasonal operations to Colombo, Sri Lanka, with its wide-body Airbus A340-300 service that commenced on 31st October 2024 and concluded on 9th May 2025.

During this operational window, Edelweiss operated a total of 28 flights, bringing in 5,632 passengers to Colombo and carrying 2,664 passengers outbound. The airline also played a significant role in boosting air cargo between Switzerland and Sri Lanka, discharging 117 tons and uplifting 304 tons of freight. (Aviation Voice)

The airline’s A340-300, configured with 314 seats, including 27 Business Class, 76 Premium Economy, and 211 Economy Class seats offered a premium onboard experience across all travel classes, catering to both leisure and business travelers.

Building on this momentum, Edelweiss has announced its return to Sri Lanka with two direct flights planned for the 2025 winter season, reaffirming its commitment to the destination and increasing connectivity between Colombo and Zurich.

The airline is represented in Sri Lanka by United Ventures Ltd., the General Sales Agent (GSA) for Edelweiss, which continues to support sales and marketing efforts in the region. (Aviation Voice)
