Vietnam Airlines has announced the launch of its first direct flights between Vietnam and Sri Lanka, marking a new milestone in bilateral tourism and trade connectivity.
The announcement was made during the Trade, Investment and Tourism Cooperation Forum held in Colombo on 8 May 2026. The airline will commence operations between Ho Chi Minh City and Colombo from October 2026 with three weekly round-trip services operated using Airbus A321 aircraft.
Flights from Ho Chi Minh City will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while return services from Colombo are scheduled for Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
