Prof. S. Srisatkunarajah, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, and Prof. Sivesan Sivanandamoorthy, Programme Head of Tourism and Hospitality Management at the University of Jaffna, made a courtesy visit to Bandaranaike International Airport. During the visit, they met with the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and senior management of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited (AASL) to explore possibilities for collaborative efforts focused on regional airport development, particularly at Jaffna International Airport (JIA).
Prof. Srisatkunarajah emphasized the strategic importance of collaboration with academic institutions, especially national universities in the Northern Region, for the socio-economic development of the area. This initiative is expected to foster stronger ties between academic and aviation sectors, driving growth and development in the region.
