Two Delta Connection regional jets collided at low speed on the taxiway at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday night, injuring a flight attendant and causing significant aircraft damage.
According to Delta, the wing of a departing flight to Roanoke, Virginia, carrying 32 passengers, clipped the fuselage of an arriving flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, with 61 onboard. No passengers were hurt.
The injured crew member sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, the Port Authority confirmed. Operations at LaGuardia continued without disruption.
Both aircraft are operated by Endeavor Air, a Delta Connection carrier. Delta stated it is working with authorities to review the incident, emphasizing that “safety of our customers and people comes before all else.”
