Turkish Airlines flight TK 733 operating from Colombo to Istanbul landed safely at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 12:28 a.m. following a reported technical issue.
Airport authorities confirmed that all passengers and crew members are safe. Officials also stated that the incident did not cause any disruption to other flight operations at Bandaranaike International Airport, and normal airport activities continued as scheduled.
Due to the aircraft circling for more than two hours prior to landing, the flight became the most-tracked aircraft on Flightradar24, with over 20,000 viewers monitoring its progress. Many Sri Lankans followed the situation closely through the night, awaiting a safe outcome, while some were also seen near the airport to witness the landing.
