Mr. Fatih Bozkurt, Country Director of Turkish Airlines, Sri Lanka & Maldives, and a delegation representing Turkish Airlines, met the Chairman of AASL on 1st of July 2025. The airline officials discussed the collaborative efforts to develop more connections to Sri Lanka, attracting more international tourists to the country.
Turkish Airlines Commenced Direct Flights to Sri Lanka in October 2023 after 10 years of operations in Sri Lanka, with a leg stopping over in Male, the airline commenced direct flights from Istanbul, Turkey, to Colombo, on 30th October 2023 with 4 weekly flights. Turkish Airlines connects Sri Lanka with Europe and the Americas with shorter flight times, as well as shorter connection times in monumental Istanbul Airport.
Mr. Fatih Bozkurt, the country director Turkish Airlines Sri Lanka and Mladives stated “Currently, Turkish Airlines flights are daily from Colombo to Istanbul, meaning 7 flights a week and we expect to increase the frequencies in the future”
