Travel MO Group has announced the appointment of Shemal Fernando as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective 1 December 2025.
In his new role, Fernando will oversee operations and drive business development across all Group entities, including Travel MO, Mount Olives College, Lemon Holidays, and MO Visas, with a focus on integration, operational excellence, and strategic growth.
An LL.B. (Hons.) graduate from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and currently pursuing an MBA, Fernando brings a strong blend of legal expertise, corporate leadership, and multi-sector experience. His career spans roles in visa consultancy, travel and tourism, insurance, and international development, including positions at Air Marine Travels & Tours, Softlogic Life Insurance PLC, LOLC Life Insurance, and Save the Children International.
