The Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL) has entered into a new partnership with Vietnam Airlines and Saigontourist Group through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening tourism and travel cooperation between Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
The agreement was signed during a special ceremony held on 8 May 2026, in conjunction with the State Visit of Tô Lâm to Sri Lanka.
The collaboration is expected to enhance tourism promotion, industry partnerships, and travel opportunities between the two countries, particularly with the planned launch of direct flights between Colombo and Ho Chi Minh City by Vietnam Airlines.
According to TAASL, the direct air connectivity will provide Sri Lankan travellers with improved convenience, seamless access to Vietnam and expanded connections to destinations across the Vietnam Airlines global network.
The association also expressed its commitment to supporting the growth of outbound travel and fostering stronger people-to-people ties between Sri Lanka and Vietnam through the new partnership.
